A young woman falls in love with the man of her dreams, not knowing that he's an embezzler who's about to flee the country.

She hits on the perfect plan after noticing a newspaper feature on the once divorced and once widowed lord, Sir Fabian Ormoerod. She will marry the man and then hit him for a massive divorce settlement. And so the stunning Ms Angela Harper, successful lingerie buyer with an alluring independent streak is born...

Rose Garvey, and her husband Gerald, live next door to her sister Lana Butt, and her husband Harry, in the fictional Larkworthy Road, Muswell Hill, North London. Gerald is an underpaid junior executive, while Harry is a well-paid fitter. The slightly snobbish Gerald makes sure that he and Rose keep up a pretense of doing well even though they are not. Meanwhile, the Butts' relative wealth encourages Lana to put on airs and graces, although Harry remains down to earth.

Neil McRae, an impoverished composer, loves Cynthia Mason, but, fearing poverty, proposes to wealthy Gladys Cady. Can he compose himself and find the courage to seek love over comfort?

This story is about “Chan Dai Lek” (main character) who lost his parents when he was small and then being brought up and been taught in Kung Fu by the Beggar legend “Cheong Dai Hap” to help those who are poor and weak. As Dai Lek grows up, he made some beggar friends who are in difficulties, namely “Da Zhi” and “Satay” , also the daughter of the head gangster “Guo Fei” and they have built a very good rapport. Together, they have living the same point of view in life that “Nothing is impossible”. On the other hand, there is a beggar group from “Lan Jie Bang” which discovered the great abilities of Dai Lek and decided to make him to become the leader of the group. In the end, because of the brutal power of the black society which constantly controlling, exploiting and mistreating the beggars, Dai Lek is then unleashed his heroism and make a stand for the sake of his love and his friends which then leads to triumph. Hence, he is the beggar hero.
